Sightings of the elusive Chase Panther are still being reported.
The latest, on the Penkridge Bank Road, was posted on the Chase Post forum of our sister site at www.chasepost.net by member Vonnie.
She says: “At approx 18.25 this evening (Thursday) my husband and I were driving from Rugeley along the Penkridge Band Road towards Cannock when halfway up the bank some 50 metres from the junction by Silvertrees, we both saw an animal cross in front of us.
“Long, lean, jet black and much larger than a domestic cat it moved from right to left into the wooded area. We both were amazed and both had the same opinion it could not have been a dog, deer or small car.â€
This area of the chase has a caravan site (static Vans) and also a mobile caravan site further up the road. It is also a hotspot for deer moving through the area. For me it would be a good place to wait in ambush for the deer to cross to catch one.
